Please save this historic piece of Gallatin. The courthouse and quaint little downtown is one of the main reasons we choose to relocate to Gallatin when we moved to Tennessee 7 years ago. The square is finally alive and starting to thrive. Why in the world wouldn’t the good people of Gallatin want to invest in their history and such a historic landmark. Other cities would never consider letting it go. Come to your senses!!! Show your common sense. Please.

Gallatin has been my home since I was very little and even though I currently moved out of state visiting as often as I do is so bittersweet and it breaks my heart to hear that such changes would be made to this beautiful city. Gallatin has come so far and the square is practically as old as time. It would make so much more sense financially and historically to just remodel and update rather than to rebuild.

I served as library director at the Gallatin Public Library and the last years were at the new location on the Square. Just like the Court House, we served the whole community and being “on the Square” enhanced that service. Likewise the Court House serves the community from it’s historical location. Don’t change that!
