I live in McMinnville, Tn. Mcminnville is a small town. Our court house is in the center of town. Moving our court house would be destabilizing , both economically and vitality of living and working. It would create a ‘hole’ in our community. Bad idea Gallatin!

Given the square’s charm with the courthouse as its cornerstone, I relocated to Gallatin in January 2016. I hope the civic leaders of this community recognize the value of historical buildings’ charm & honor to draw future residents & shoppers. Don’t demolish; re-purpose with retail suites on the first floor and office suites above!

Please oh please DO NOT relocate the Courthouse. It would devastate the down town area and destroy businesses that have been built by sweat and hard labor and money that a lot of them did not have. Now that the town is seeing more and more people on the square hopefully the merchants can realize a profit from their labor. I think it would be a hit below the belt to the majority of folks that have called Gallatin home for most of or maybe all their lives to destroy this historic courthouse.

I am a native of Gallatin. I have seen the square have its lows and highs. Right now, it is vibrant and thriving. I want to keep it that way. I also want to keep that beautiful, historic building!
